Aldous Huxley's Brave New World

The book Brave New World tells a story of a future society, that’s being told in the past. It suggests that the
society in the future will be filled with two types of human the civilized and uncivilized. The civilized will be divided into
levels: alpha plus being the highest, and epsilon minus being the lowest, depending on your rank it determines your
everyday life because in this future society you are born into your life which is already planned for you, for example if
you were born an epsilon then your job would be in maintenance or some other lower ranked job. Also an important part
of life in this society is to have as many sexual partners as you can because no one belongs to anyone, and if you are
unhappy you just take a soma, which is a oral medication which you ingest and it automatically makes you happy. This
book shouldn’t of been banned because Huxley was just introducing a new way of life, that he thought our society was
headed to, and banning a book, for the blunt reason because it was speaking about something that was too far-fetched
for some people back then isn’t fair to the author. Another reason why the book was banned is because, it encouraged
drug use in it which would be the soma. Lastly and probably the biggest reason why the book was banned is because, it
has sexual content in it which back then seemed too promiscuous for that day and age.

        One reason for why the book was banned is because, the concept that Huxley is trying to introduce was a little too
far fetched for that day and age. The setting the Huxley describes is a life where everyone is separated into levels and
you are born into the level, and that classifies what your able to do, because someone that was born a delta can’t do the
same job as an alpha. "Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully
