Hannah Montana strikes a flat note

The very thought that Hannah Montana might just pop up on my screen makes my skin crawl. The total incongruity of this show with reality is pathetic, considering a teenage girl could never alternate between being a down-to-earth girl by day to a megawatt popstar at night. Not to mention that none of the “actors” on this show can actually deliver a line without sounding stupid. The main character of the show has no remote sign of talent as her singing voice sounds like a dying sheep. Seriously, what on earth has happened to the quality of TV shows nowadays?;

Don’t get me started on the ridiculousness of this show’s painfully thin storyline. It’s come to the point where I’ve avoided Disney Channel overall. Michael Poryes certainly did a good job on creating probably the worst TV show ever. What I despise is how the concept of the series seems to be simply to brainwash children into thinking that being famous is “the end all and be all”.   Additionally, you’d have to be a real idiot not to notice the blinding similarities between your classmate at school named Miley and the international popstar named Hannah. The series basically blindfolds impressionable children from what is really happening in the world and the reality of their lives. They’re also tricked into believing that being famous is all fun and glamourous, when really it isn’t, and it’s highly overrated. How many singers or actors these days end up overdosing on drugs or going to rehab? This is what the younger generations should be aware of- that fame has possible dire consequences.

There is no doubt that Hannah Montana is famous, but she certainly is not in any way “Grammy-winning” talented. She comes across as an annoying, exaggerated, and a “try-hard” hormonal teenager. Not to mention her complete inability to be funny. Don’t worry, she isn’t the only one! Her best friend, brother, father… actually pretty much everyone on this show hasn’t a single funny bone in...
