The average Canadian kid spends more time watching TV than attending school. Kids eat while they watch TV and they may do the same for homework.   The elderly can watch TV even more than kids since this is their main entertainment at home.   TV now has taken over our lives and it is natural for most people to enter a room, turn on the lights and then turn on their TV and keep doing other activities. However the problem isn’t watching, it’s what you are watching, e.g. Severe of many kinds. TV is becoming one of our main leisure activities, a place filled with stereotypes and a different perspective   of the world that discards reality out of recognition.
High quality TV for example National Geographic or documentaries is always a positive rather than watching Family Guy or Futurama all the time, so make sure to switch on the right channel. Also did you know that the average citizen will spend time watching TV like it’s a half-time job. By the time they retire they will have spent 12 non-stop 24 hour days watching their Television. TV is very powerful because it is politically oriented and establishes public standards which blocks one’s thinking and puts in its own idea’s.
If you tend to watch too much TV your brain cells weaken your critical thinking skills or abilities.
The TV can play games with everyone like a wolf and we’re the sheep making us buy what it wants us to buy, trying to look like our TV icons. We are told how to react and feelWITH the TV to certain events like they do in shows.
One of the biggest reasons why the TV has harmful influences is because it is a passive activity. Sitting on your couch ready to fall asleep just glaring at the TV does nothing for your body or mind. We simulate activity and hear it without listening as if we were programmed to do so. Too much TV is staying away from the process of living.
There is no chance of escape from the influence of television, but there is a chance to reduce negative influences on TV, selecting high...
