I believe in the monster under my bed, that has 4 arms, enormous teeth and will devour me in my sleep. When I was younger I would always search my room for the monster under my bed, while I am still yet to find it, I slept better every night knowing that there was nothing there.
Most people never believe that there could ever be such a thing hiding under their bed, yet they are the ones that are wrong. While I may have spent an extra 10 minutes each night, tearing my room apart in search of a creature of my imagination, I now get to live with the benefits. I never learned that there was no such thing as monsters and I am glad of it. They might not have 4 arms, enormous teeth, and eat people as I previously thought, but real monsters are people like you and me. Everyday monsters show themselves by killing, hurting, and deceiving others because people never learned of their existence until it was too late. I believe in the monster under my bed to this day, but my view of a monster has changed dramatically. Although I no longer believe in monsters out of this world, I know that they live among us and are just as bad if not worse. My childhood belief has become a philosophy that guides my life every day. I am not afraid of monsters, I respect that they exist and I am always ready for them. I have outgrown this fear and now live how I want to because I am aware of the dangers that exist and of the monsters in this world. I am not effected by monsters because they prey on those that are unsuspecting and unwilling to stay alert, while I am ready for them.
I learned when I was young, of a monster under my bed and will never let anyone tell me otherwise, as monsters do exist, not only under my bed, but throughout the entire world. In regards to their existence, I live alertly, not guided by fear, and I will always believe in the monster under my bed.
