Module 2 Section Long Project (Mc Donald’s Business Strategy When Dealing with Countries Abroad.)














In regards to conducting business in and with other countries, Mc Donald’s uses a franchise approach with little to no change depending from the one they use here in the U.S. Mc Donald’s international approach strongly dejects its company from partnering up with unsolicited companies:
      “It is our company’s policy not to consider unsolicited ideas from outside the McDonald’s system. Because we are always working on new ideas and strategies within the company, we do not review ideas from outside McDonald’s to avoid confusion over the origin of an idea. We realize that we may be missing out on a few good ideas, but we had to adopt this policy for legal and business reasons. While McDonald's Corporation appreciates companies and suppliers who take their time to send us corporate information and propositions for business alliances, the large volume of unsolicited business proposals received by McDonald's precludes acknowledgement of this information. It is our policy to initiate contact with outside suppliers on as needed basis.” (McDonalds.com)

This tactic that proves to be wise decision due to Mc Donald’s having sued businesses for carrying the Mc or Mac in the titles of there business. Also, Mc Donald’s has been sued several times in the past for trademark disputes and the originality of slogan ideas. One such case was the Comic Relief case in which a British adult comic magazine filed a suit against Mc Donald’s for plagiarizing its Top Tips Feature:
