Education Is Essential

    I believe that education is an imperative factor in the lives of individuals, and society as a whole.   Education has come to be more essential than it was in the past. Today in society, education is crucial in order to achieve success economically and socially.

    All through my sophomore year of high school, I procrastinated when it came to my schoolwork. I viewed school as something I was forced to attend by my parents as opposed to something I personally wanted to be present at. My mother constantly reminded me “What you put in is what you will get out” I clearly understood this statement when I saw my grades at the end of my sophomore year, the effort I put in was inadequate and it certainly showed. At the time I was unaware of the importance of my education. This changed my last two years of high school, I buckled down and began seeing school as an opportunity to grow and take my education to another level. Because of this, I was successful in getting accepted into a four-year university. Education can take an individual to great heights if they allow it to and it provides opportunity for those willing to take what it has to offer.

    Education has a fairly large number of purposes in society; its main purpose though is to gain knowledge and skills necessary to make reasonable decisions. Without education it one could not possibly possess proper critical thinking skills. America would be deprived of the development of innovative techniques and discoveries. With education comes the creation of processes. Those who are uneducated may have experience with specific things but that can only get you so far in life. Although both Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college and prospered majority of the time it is those who have spent time in school who succeed in life. Thus, education is essential.
