Chinese Students Entertainment preferences

The purpose of this paper is to analysis the different cost and preferences for entertainment of Chinese Students inside or outside, and identifies the role of cinema in student entertainment. We choose different gender‘s students from 18 to 24 ages in Chinese university as the interviewer, and arrange them to open a semi-structured interview in the classroom that the survey was conducted from 6th to 8th in November, 2012. It includes three theme questions and fifteen follow-up questions corning participant’s preferences and cost for entertainment. We Emphasize that respondents could give their answer based on their wish, did not need answer the whole questions in this interview.

Firstly, we analysis the cost and preference for students entertainment at home. The result of this study indicates internet was the main form at home that the all respondent almost spent over 2hours per day to play pc game or chart with friends online. The student A ‘every day I need to go to internet’ , and Student B said ‘my favorite entertainment is the pc game on line ‘The different aspect is that Student B(female) would like to watch TV with family except internet;, however, Student A(male) almost spent the whole time to go to pc game online with friend or brother. Based on the collective data, this study could be summarized in term of composition of cost and Consumption in details to their three fundamental Expenses categories:
  1. Purchase of equipment (E.G. PC, Game CD...) 2000RMB per year.
  2. Internet fee ,600RMB per year
  3. Electricity fee 500RMB per year.
Secondly, we analysis the cost and preference for students entertainment outside. The result of this study indicates gender has different main form of entertainment.
