BRCC SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY
03/14/2013

My Name is Jonathan, Bistel I was just honorably discharged from the US Marine Corp as of July 9, 2012. I am an extremely motivated person I have been this way my whole life and when it comes to aviation it is my dream and it has no boundaries. Since I was a teenager I have been looking to the sky’s, I was in the Civil Air Patrol for many years and when I graduated High school I tried for the Air Force though they told me I could not fly jets I did not stop my pursuit for aviation . I then tried to join the Marine Corp. in hopes to get in as a helicopter pilot. Well I didn’t know that I had to be an officer to be a pilot but I would not quit fighting for it.   So from there I tried to get into anything I could to gain knowledge with aircraft.
Well I finished my time with the Marines and now I’m coming to Blue Ridge to follow my dreams and with this Scholarship this dream can be followed. I am determined to achieve this. My family believes in me and my dream and with this scholarship it will help us with some of the financial burden.
Now with this degree for Blue Ridge and the schools from the Army for helicopter pilot and warrant officer I will become the most qualified person in Aviation Maintenance Technology’s but I will keep pursuing because I have only one primary goal and that is to be the of the best in the aviation field and I hope Blue Ridge will be the one to take me there.

Sincerely: Jonathan D. Bistel
