Most of our sense of reality is perceived through the media. The media collect the observations and experiences of an individual or a group of people. Whether there are conservative or liberal media we build up our own understanding of the world and how it works. Lot of our view of reality is based on media messages that have been pre-constructed and have attitudes, interpretations and conclusions already built in.
One story that presents different media outlets is the President Clinton’s impeachment trial(Monica Lewinsky scandal) by the House of Representatives on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice on December 19, 1998, but acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. The right leaning media supported impeachment arguing that even a small lie in a civil deposition constitutes a major crime. The left leaning media in contrast saw the trial as a witch hunt treating the very same violations condemned by the conservative press as trivial.
