A Volunteers is a person who voluntarily undertakes or expresses a willingness to undertake a service, one who renders a service or takes part in a transaction while having no legal concern or interest.   This service is as simple as you giving of yourself and time.   That is all it takes to make a difference in your community and country.   President Obama stated in a recent ceremony, “That is how change happens. Because of committed Americans who work to make it happen. Because of you. You have started something and now I am asking you to keep at it. I am asking for your help to make a real, meaningful difference in the lives of our communities and our country.”   I know that volunteering helps to improve our communities.   It gives me a since of accomplishment and no experience is necessary.   I want to learn how to better engage others into a life of volunteerism, caring enough to improve the lives of their fellowman will transforming their own.  
When most people think about volunteering usually it is in a time of kayos or in the spirit of giving during the holidays.   But volunteers are needed all year round and there are numerous organization that could benefit from you wanting to lend a hand.   Currently in my community I donate some of my time to the Austin Independent School District (A.I.S.D) with Partners in Education. This partnership started with my employer allowing me to represent our company for some of the neighbor schools within our community. In the small amount of time that I spent with the kids in the schools, it positively affected me. In so much, I make it an effort to get involved in many events the schools have like P.T.A meeting, career fairs, track and field, mentoring, or simply just being there.
