Since the day Malaya gained its independence from the British, Malaysians have witnessed the massive expansion of its cities particularly Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang and Johor Bahru. For years humans have been flocking to these urban areas in search of good life, lucrative jobs,   entertainment and others. many cities today. The private car has become an important and dominant mode of transport.According to Professor Jamilah Mohammad from Department of Geography, University Malaya, The increasing dominance of the private car as a mode of transport is due to inherent advantages associated with its use. The unrestricted freedom that car users enjoy is one important reason why many people wish to own a car. As the most important city in Malaysia, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur continues to be flooded with newly-registered motor vehicles each year. The Federal Territory’s percentage share of the newly-registered motor vehicles in the whole of Malaysia are in average of 20% increase every year since   1991.   With this growing number of vehicles, certain life risks and hazard arise that threaten the well being of its dwellers. Before the coming of the millennium, humans battle the health risks that come along. Walking along any street in Kuala Lumpur, the average observer can smell cars’ fumes in the air, see the environment being polluted with unhealthy carbon monoxide. Kuala Lumpur has been battling one of the   biggest problem in the world , that is the city’s traffic congestion and the pollution emitted by the vehicles  
                Increasing number of private vehicles on roads results unhealthy city life and more fuel wastage due to traffic congestions. Unlike other developed countries, most of the vehicles are running on green engine which lower the possibility of air contamination in their cities. But it is not the case in Malaysia and nearly half of commercial vehicles are still running on diesel engines which responsible of polluting the city....
