Aim of the programme: To create competent and committed rural development management professionals to alleviate rural poverty and promote rural prosperity in the state. Objectives: On completion of the programme, the students will develop • • • • • • • Expertise in designing appropriate rural development plan and programme in participatory manner Skill for effective implementation of rural development programmes with community participation Competence in management of delivery system for improved delivery services Sensitivity to issues of equity and inclusive development Concern about gender just policy, plan and programme Right attitude for understanding grass root problems of rural people and striving to solve the problems with innovative ideas Ability and leadership quality to motivate rural people to increase productivity and income Placement: After successful completion of the course, the student can get placement in Government Development Organisations, Financial Institutions: Banks, Insurance and Micro-finance, Food Business, Agri-business, Co-operatives and NGOs. Course Duration: Full time two years (Four Semesters) for M.A. in Rural Development Full time one year (Two Semesters) for P.G. Diploma in Rural Development

Intake Capacity: Eligibility:

Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 15 years of education (10+2+3) and having minimum 45% marks in honours or 50% in aggregate (or its
equivalent CGPA) at graduation level can apply. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be

calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university/institution from which the candidate has obtained the degree.
