Some people believe that individuals can not improve environment, but only governments and big companies can make a difference. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Well-known is that energy crisis and global warming pose a threat to the society. It is the governments and large industry companies that should play the dominant role to ameliorate environment. However, individuals as the consumers of nature resources are also responsible for the deteriorating energy crisis and global warming. Therefore, as individuals we should play our part in the restoration of green environment.

There is no denying the fact that big facilities and industries consume the largest proportion of energy resources.   If comparing with them, the amount of energy which is used by each individual is only insignificant. However, once we consider all individuals as a whole, the consumption of energy resources used by us are enormous and can no longer be ignored.

Secondly, every individual is the one to implement the plans and regulations for better environment. Although government and industry companies have inescapable responsibility to set up rules and policies to control the improper and excessive usage of non-renewable resources, individuals have to be aware that   these rules and policies involve each single person who consumes nature energy every day. Without individuals strictly follow the rules and regulations, an ideal consequence never can be achieved.  

Last but not least, the energy crisis and global warming are the most challenging problems which mankind is facing. The single effort cannot solve these intractable issues, governments, large companies and individuals have to make efforts together. On the one hand, reduce the consumption and pollution as much as we can. On the other hand, work on innovation of renewable energy and more environmental-friendly materials.
