Good morning……

The quote clearly states the importance of motivation.

What is motivation?

1. It is the general desire or willingness of someone to do something.

This requires a stimulus, an incentive or an impulse.

All of us are endowed with outstanding ability to accomplish any given task.

Then what makes one different from the other is the level of motivation that

we expose ourselves to. Being motivated in a workplace is very important

for the company’s progress. Motivation can be both external and internal. In

other words motivation can come from within or from an external source. I

strongly feel external factors create motivation in a person.

Let me demonstrate this with an activity.

I would like some volunteers for this activity.

This activity is not a skill test but just to relax our mind.

This will not determine your efficiency but give you a sense of achievement.

I can assure you that all the participants will be rewarded at the end of the

game.

This is an opportunity for you to show who you are.

All I did was to motivate you to join the activity.

That is exactly what I will do at the workplace to motivate people doing

boring jobs.

When does a job become boring? When it is mundane without any variety.

So I will bring in variety by encouraging my team members to do tasks in a

manner that will appeal to them the most. For example how about a group

work, working in a different seat, working with different people and above

all setting targets for oneself for the day, sharing it with colleagues and

appreciating each other for the accomplishment for the day. I will...
