The passage presents many advantages if employees could work four days a week instead of five days. However, the lecture cast some doubts on what the passage indicates.

First of all, the lecture stated that hiring more employees to fulfil the same workload by four-day work would cost more. Even though the total salary is the same, the company would spent more money on training, medical benefit, hiring procedures and the needs of more space and equipments. This statement is just opposite of what passage stated, that is, hiring more people would cost the same.

Second, the lecture pointed out four-day workweek will not only increase the individual workload but reduce the rate of employment. Instead of employing a new one to fulfil the workload, companies would like to compel employee to attain the same workload that should be done by five-day employee. So overworking might happen a lot than usual. This concept cast a doubt on what passage stated, which is employees would be more efficient than usual and fewer overworked would happened.

The final point from the lecture is four-day workweek would decrease the life quality of workers and cause the potential risk of unemployment to them. They might have more time for personal life but they also have fewer money and fewer chances to advance their careers. Promotions would not going to happen to them if they only work four days a week. Worse yet, in economic crisis they seem to be the first one to be dismissed by companies. On the other hand, the counterpart illustrated in passage is employees would improve the quality of their lives by spending time with families and with less money income.
