Solutions to Address Overpopulation

It is true that the population is growing rapidly in some countries like China, India and Japan. Undoubtedly, such irregular growth poses a serious threat to life on the earth. In this essay, I will be examining the solutions to this issue.

Firstly, in order to tackle this problem, we should be aware that some cultures and traditions are responsible for the overpopulation. For instance, some Chinese people tend to believe that the more children a household have, the more prosperous a family will be. This traditional concept indeed lead to overpopulation in China to a great extent.   Thus, educating the households to embrace and adapt to the modern practice which is to have lesser kids is an important way to alleviate this problem. For example, China has set up some communities to disseminate the concept that the lesser kids there are in a family, the parents are able to pay more attention to their kids. The kids are more likely to have a healthier environment in terms of emotional and psychological growth. On the contrary, too many kids in a family may result in a lack of the parenting which will affect the children’s personality negatively.

Secondly, in many people’s view, the parent tend to rely on their kids rather than standing on their own when they are old, which is the other main reason for parents to have too many kids. The most helpful method to ease such worries of people is to improve the welfare system for the elderly so that people do not need to take their life after retirement into account when they are deciding how many kids they want. Improving the welfare system includes providing affordable insurance to cover the individuals’ life after a certain age, building more apartments for the elderly group, organising community activities exclusive to the senior citizens, and encouraging the students to take care of the senior citizens.

To concludes, personally, I would suggest the governments of the countries that is suffering from overpopulation...
