Distance Education

Nowadays, individual participates in distance education increasingly than before instead of taking part in classroom-based education. In my essay, I will explore the advantage and disadvantage points of the above attitude.

One of the benefits of attending distance education is that individual enable to arrange their schedule flexible, which means that one can have courses whenever he or she wants to. Similarly, having distance education do not limited by location, where can be in dormitory, office etc. whilst classroom-based education should be taken in classroom. Another benefit of distance education is that it provides an independent learning environment and individual can fast forward the course progress when he or she already acknowledged the knowledge, which is called self-pace learning and it works more efficiently. In contrast, it is common belief the progress of classroom-based education controlled by teacher but not yourself.

However, there are also arguments in favour of classroom-based education. Taking distance education has certainly dangers, which would be that individual cannot pass the course examination due to poor self-conscious. Meanwhile, it is generally recognised that attending classroom-based education will feels restraint by teacher when in class, unless fleeing from school. But overall, I think this is less likely today, individual volunteer to participate in distance education and presents perfect consciousness.

In conclusion, it can be said that the advantages of distance education are the disadvantages of classroom-based education, and vice versa. In my opinion, I feel that taking distance education is of more benefit, which is easier and more efficient than classroom-based education. Also, that is the best way for us to advocate distance education because it saves more resources and focuses on self-pace learning.
