This article is about how President Bush compares the war in Iraq to the Vietnam War because to him this will only be a disservice to our American troops. It also talks about two of McNamara mistake concern the failure to explain to Americans when and why unanticipated events forced us off course and to make it clear to the people that in international affairs we may have to live in an imperfect untidy world. I think that this article is trying to say that there were a lot of problems for the U.S. when we decided to go to war with Iraq and there were a lot of conspiracy theories that the U.S. government had all the series of events that led to the war with Iraq but just like the article states we live in an imperfect world.
Is President Obama’s Afghanistan Strategy Working
This article is about how President Obama’s strategy is not working because the Taliban is still at large and the population neither supports the local government nor collaborates with the U.S. forces. It also talks about how the Taliban has enough spies to kill people suspected of aiding the Americans while the local Afghan government has no political capital at all. I think that this article is trying to show that the Taliban has a big influence in the middle east and we will never know when the U.S. government bring back the troops because of this known fact that prevents it.
