It is not unusual for teenagers work at some time during their lives. According to the American Working Teens Fact Sheet, about seventy to eighty percent of teens work for pay sometime during their lives, and about half of the young people who are employed work more than 15 hours during a school week. (mannj 2) Some people think students should study rather than work for dollars, but students are part of our society and they have right to do what they want to do; the more important thing is that part-time job working is not bad for teenagers. Teems benefit from working during high school even at fast food restaurants because they expand their personality and self-respect, learn how to manage money and get work experience.
Most teens have a job after school. Working helps teens respond their payment and gain respect. “According to the U.S. Department of Labor; 50 percent of American teenagers have their informal jobs, such as babysitting or yard work by age 12. Boys tend to begin their jobs at younger ages and work more hours than girls. By age 15, nearly two-thirds of American teens have had some kind of employment. By the time teenagers’ graduate from high school, 80% will have a part-time job at some time during the school year. The average high school student works 20 hours per week, and about 10% work full time.”(Tammy 1) It is important for teens to have a job. It helps prepare them for the real world and responsibilities. For

example, a teen might want to purchase items their parents are not willing to pay for. Being able to acquire his or her own things, will sure a teen a serve of independence will be able to save money in a bank account and be able to pay for the future education.
The important part of getting job is teenagers can take part in society. Adolescence is an important period during which one’s personality is easily influenced. School curricula are very limited resource for teenagers to build their self-esteem. The only process that...
