In a large amount of schools across America, this has become a disturbing trend. Schools are handing out condoms to kids. This is wrong on so many fronts that I cannot even begin to name them. The fact that people argue this fact astounds me. I cannot believe this action was even considered. I will name a few points that I believe are the most prominent and powerful arguments for my case.
Firstly, the free condoms DO encourage kids to have sex. Now, I am not so naïve as to assume that teenagers wont have sex or will wait until they are married. However, I hope that others are not so naïve as to think that free condoms wont encourage it. Some kids are afraid to buy them. That’s a very nerve-wracking thing, to walk up to a clerk with a box of condoms in your hand. Will they look at you funny? Will they laugh? You don’t know. Therefore, when schools give them out for free it releases that tension.
Secondly, when a kid is not ready to have sex and is surrounded by others who pressure him to, he is likely to find an excuse to get out of it. Something along the lines of “My mother won’t let me.” will get you laughed at. So, one is probably going to come up with an excuse like “Condoms are to hard to get”. If a school provides the condoms for free then these individuals, who are not ready to have sex, are further pressured because their excuses no longer hold valid.
Finally, and most importantly, there is no such thing as “Safe Sex”. A good condom has a 98% success rating. That isn’t a bad score. However, the schools bought condoms are very fragile and have an exceptionally LOW success rate, per the Consumer Reports of the U.S. Inc. In one study 71% of the condoms broke or in some way failed the tests. You had better hope that you’re one of the lucky 29% that get a good one. “The rubber that a latex condom is comprised of has intrinsic voids about 5 microns in size.”-Rubber World, Roland....
So instead of those kids being too nervous to go up to the clerk, they instead just have sex without 'em. Oh, it happens all right.
Anywho, weak conclusion. And the arguments between your first two points are a bit weak. Also, you want to persuade your readers; not assualt their intelligence, such as you did in your introductory paragraph.
