The beginning of the gods started out like this. First, there was only dark water & a hill named Ben-Ben grew out of it. On top of it, was the first god Atum. He coughed out two gods Shu, God of Air, & Tefnut, God of Moisture. They had two children, Geb( god of earth) & Nut ( god of sky). Nut and Geb had four children named Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys. Osiris & Isis became king & queen of earth. Seth became jealous of Osiris so he killed him. Isis & Osiris had a son named Horus & he fought Seth to reclaim the throne. Horus became god of earth & Osiris god of underworld & the story went on from there.

Egypt had 20 dynasties of kings. A dynasty is a series of rulers from the same family. There are 3 kingdoms of dynasties. The Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom & New Kingdom. The most famous king from the Old kingdom is Zoser. He was an brilliant king who ruled in the 2600s B.C. The most famous king from the Middle Kingdom is Mentuhotep I.
