Personal Goals: The Best I Can Be!     By Mark Burai

  In my opinion, the one main thing that really is important is what image we show to people in our society. I think the image that you show people can really have an impact on your social life, and psychological life. For example, let's say you are on an interview for a job, and the manager is asking you a bunch of questions, but you cannot answer them properly because you are really shy. Showing people that you're shy and nervous can be really dangerous to you, especially when you want to find a job. If you're shy, people might not take you really seriously. Also, I think that first impressions are everything, so if you're shy by nature, you need to break out of your shell if you're trying to impress someone.

  Everyone has images and ideas the way they want to show themselves to others.
For me, I want people to see that I’m a respectful, reliable, open minded (unprejudiced), intelligent, and hardworking. I don't want to be like students who don’t do their homework, assignments, and they don't pay attention to what the teacher instructs them to do. To tell you the truth, I think that our society is facing with students who are not just lazy, but also undisciplined. If we look around, we can see that even in our school this problem is occurring. I want people to look at me and say” Oh, that student is a hard worker” for instance. These are some of the images I want to present to others.

  Next, I want to talk about contributions, and how can I make them better towards my family, friends, community, and also, my school. Actually, during the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking a lot about my contribution to society and I feel that I have not been as active as I should in my community. I would like to change that, I know there are some ways I can do that. For example, if were talking about community, I could help out with littering.
