Homosexuals should be allowed to marry because all people should be treated equally and given the same rights.   The Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." (Declaration of Independence, 38-39)   According to this, the founding document of our nation, all people are born equal and deserve the same rights.   In the Fourteenth Amendment it states, "...No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive of life, liberty, or property, without due process of the law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." (US Constitution, 46)   This states that each state should give all citizens the same rights and protection of the law.   Also, Amendment Nine of the US Constitution states, "The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." (US Constitution, 40)   Meaning that no rights of the Constitution should be wrongly translated to exclude any certain people.   All people deserve to be treated equally, therefore, homosexuals should be allowed the right to marry just like everyone else.
    Gays should be allowed to marry because United States has Separation of Church and State.   The First Amendment of the Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."
