Deer Hunting

    In ancient time people hunted to survive. They used the animals for food, clothes, and tools. Today hunting for sport has became popular.


Today whitetail deer is one of the most popular animals to hunt in North America. Deer can be found all over the United States. Many people hunt for the whitetail deer all over. This lets hunters learn about an animal and nature.


    The two methods used to hunt whitetail are by firearm or a bow. Bow hunting consists of more experience then firearm. Firearms are more dangerous then a bow is.


There are two different types of firearms: rifles and shotguns. In a rifle barrel there are grooves so the bullet will spin. In a shotgun the barrel has no grooves.


The law in many states may say something different. In regarding the use of firearms, one state may say you can use a rifle but another state may say you can’t.


Some people like to use bow and arrow because it gives an advantage. But with a gun you can shoot further out than with a bow.


Where to hunt depends on where you live. Most states have public wildlife areas. You can hunt on and camp in the area. Another good ideal is to hunt on a family farm with a friend or family member.


The best spots to hunt are by the edge of a corn field, wheat field, and bean field. These make the ideal spots to hunt.


Tree stands are better because you are above the deer and the deer can’t smell you. You can see further if you are up off the ground. When you go up in a stand, unload your gun and put it on safety. You can use a portable deer stand and move it all over.


In prerut, the deer will move from feeding areas. Prerut accurse in early fall. The bucks will move out of the groups because of all the fights. Deer know when it is going to get colder. They will eat more so they can stay warmer.


In the rut, the buck will rub on the smaller trees and make circular scrapes on the ground. The deer will give off different...
