Some people think that people who immigrate to a new country should accept the new culture as their own rather than remain in separate minority groups and live in different lifestyles. Do you agree or disagree?

In current society, immigration becomes a normal thing that happens around our lives. However, an issue accompanied with immigration, which bothers settler a lot is the culture strike. Therefore, whether immigrant should accept local cultures or not arouses a severe debate.

On one hand, many individuals insist that adapting new culture will definitely helps immigrant blend in local residents and their lives faster. If you couldn’t accept and respect local custom, one would not become one member of local inhabitant. Moreover, a new culture and custom that are totally different from former one will broaden individual’s outlook, which is similar with traveling. Traveling to different places to contact various cultures is a mind advance process for individuals. Accepting new custom is not only the process of broaden one’s horizons, but also let one learn new knowledge. Last but not the least, adapting to local culture may be convenient to immigrant life here, such as, making new friends, building up friendly relationship with neighbor, will brighten up your life absolutely. As an old saying goes: “far relatives cannot equal with close neighbor.”

However, that’s not denied that obtain indepent minority groups is necessary for immigrant. They have right to live in different lifestyles even if just immigrate in different country and place. This take them feel a sense of belonging in some ways. Still, I guess it’s a way of escape. Blend in a new place and know new friends are a way that finds a sense of safety actually.

Overall, immigrants are supposed to accept local mind and custom to make life more colorful. They can keep a minority groups if it won’t influent daily social events.
