1. Managers regularly acquire and use power as an essential tool of delegation and organization.   Powers such as referent, reward, coercive, legitimate, and expert are different powers that can be used to administrate distinctive ideas.   Also, knowing how to administer power can be very difficult without having proper influence tactics in place to get complete compliance from your recipient.
Legitimate Power, the authority is exercised by making a legitimate request.   Is more likely to be a polite request, verbally or written, without going into such a demanding stage that may have negative effects.   Legitimate requests are often made in a clear, concise manner so that the target person can clearly understand.
Referent Power means the power or ability for individuals to attract others and build loyalty.   It is easily obtained when another person really admires or wants to be like you. It is the power of charisma or fame wanted by another assuming that all the positives rub off onto themselves. Compliance is very likely if requests are believed to be very important to leader.
Reward Power is commonly used by making an implicit or explicit promise to someone in exchange for some sort of reward for carrying out the requested action. Compliance is most likely to occur if the target person has a strong value for his or her benefit.
Coercive Power is the only negative power in my opinion. At times, it may force someone to do something against their will. Threats may often be used to try to get things accomplished.   The target may comply in order to avoid punishment in which he or she believes is controlled by the demander.
Expert Power is a very common power and is the basis for a very large proportion of human collaboration. The target person normally complies because he or she believes that the agent has special knowledge about the way to specifically do something.   Opinions and...
