The Elevator

The doors finally closed. As they were going on the tenth floor, the pressure in their ears begun to rise. Nobody suspected that they would stop between the sixth and the seventh floor because there wasn’t any particular noise or any turbulence during their trip. However the fan in the ceiling had stopped, the emergency red lights were blinking like an exploding volcano and the atmosphere became dull. The guests were trapped in a winding box like rats in a cage. It took them a couple of minutes to realize what have happened until they react.
One of the guests, a respectable citizen who worked in an office for almost twenty-five years never had missed his time table at work. That morning was his first time. His forehead and palms started sweating. His chin was trebling as he couldn’t articulate the word “Help”. He took off his tie and as he was holding his jacket with one hand he tried to press the emergency button. He felt like he was hypnotized since he couldn’t hear a word of the other person next to him, trying to tell him that the emergency button didn’t work. When he pressed the button with no respond his heart started beating faster, his eyes bleared and he fainted.
The man next him, a truck driver, was a handsome, tall man with an earring on his nose. First he pushed the man a bit to see if he was going to wake, then he put his hand in the jacket of the little man and he started looking something. Finally he pulled his hand back with a wallet. He opened it and took all the money. Then slowly he placed it back to the jacket. With slow moves he pushed the fainted man that was laying on the floor of the elevator. The man woke up very anxiously, he started shouting for help but it was useless. There was nobody in the building. The truck driver tried to calm the man.
"Calm down dude, no one can hear you!" the man said angrily.
"This...this... this can be true, someone will hear us!" he replied and kept shouting.
