Yes We Did It!

“ Yeah! Yahoo! Hooray!” We all shouted as loud as we could in the hall of SMK Dato Onn. Our cutest conductor went up the stage and took over the trophy from the hand of the principal of SMK Dato Onn. We were overjoyed. I looked at the trophy in my hand, and thought about the hardship that we have paid. Now, I want to tell the whole world, “ its worth it!”


        We began our practice in the early of Mac. 36 of us were selected from two classes- 4 Arif and 4 Muj. We felt proud to be able to represent our school in the Choral Speaking competition. Everyday, we were forced to spend most of our schooling time to practice the Choral Speaking. The teachers in-charge, Miss Norlina, Cik Radziah   and Puan Sadiah also tried their best to train us, the training was really tough. We practice and practice and practice until we could even mumbled it in my dream. Finally, it’s the day for the zone level competition. Our school’s hall was well decorated to welcome the participants from various schools.


        When I reached school at 6.45a.m, my goodness sake! The classroom was totally in a mess. “ Hey, pass me the rubber band!”


        “ Ooi, helped me to tie up my hair, is it neat enough?”


        “ Oh no! I forgot to bring my badge!”


        My head was spinning and I was in a rush too. Finally, we were ready at 7.30a.m. sharp. The teachers termed us as the cutest dugong here.


        We stood confidently on the stage and let out our broadest smile to the audience. “ Phew!” It’s finally over. We have shown our best presentation on the stage and ……Yes of course, we were the champion! Then, we were lucky enough and sit the first place again in the district level competition, which was held at Dato Onn and after, that went into the state level competition smoothly!
