Letter to a Friend on Sirlanka

Dear Friend,
      It’s so beautiful here in the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa. The ancient ruins of this Sir Lankan city are amazing. It’s so full of culture and it shows you the heritage of these people. I even got to see the old parliament building.   I wish you could see it. You learn so much about the history while you’re here. Polonnaruwa was actually the capital of Sir Lanka. It was named by King Vijayabreahu. Unfortunately, there was soon a higher power and the capital was then transferred to Dambadeniya. To this day Polonnaruwa is one of the best planned Archeological relic sites in the country. It is one of the cleaner and more beautiful cities in the country. It is also the second largest city with a lake that was built in 1200 A.C. The ancient ruined buildings and green environment is what attracts most tourists. It was actually claimed a World Heritage Site in 1982. A World Heritage Site is where specific sites in the world such as forests or cities are listed and is maintained by the international World Heritage Program. Hopefully we will be able to preserve The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa. It’s important to everyone because it brings diversity and allows others to see what kind of history other countries have. It is also a master piece of human art and shows how our society changes over time to become more advanced in technology and in culture and value. It’s one of the most gorgeous places on our planet. But by killing our atmosphere and creating Global Warming we are destroying this piece of history. The climate change is affecting the conditions in Sir Lanka making it hard to sustain this habitat. They usually had tropical climates through most of the year and it was occasionally chilly in December and January, but recently the rain and chilliness has increased drastically. Majority of the tourists enjoy this climate more but the land suffers when there is too much rain.   Well hopefully you will be able to see this site one day.
