Alpine skiing and Hiking have been around for many a year, though both have many different qualities, they are also very similar. Alpine skiing is a recreational activity and sport involving sliding down snow-covered hills with long skis attached to each foot, while hiking is an outdoor activity which consists of walking in natural environments that can be either for exercising or for the enjoyment of God’s creation. Both of these sports, with their many differences, and have their own qualities. They both compare in some ways too, such as physical accessibility and activity, a nature experience, and both are a great way to connect with others.
Comparing the two sports, they are physical enduring, for example both skiing and hiking require muscles and leg strength to carry heavy equipment such as boots. The hiker or skier gets to experience natural surroundings such as being outside to encounter woods, terrain and fresh air. Another comparison between both sports is that they are a great way to connect with others, for example hiking and skiing are both family activities and made for all ages.
In contrast to hiking and skiing is that hiking can be done anywhere around the world, but it's slower and not as exciting. Hiking is also easier to connect with people than in skiing since skiing is such a fast paced experience the skier does not get to experience any verbal contact. Skiing is different because you need snow, which you cannot find in warmer climate countries such as Mexico, and it gives you an adrenaline rush unlike hiking since hiking is more for enjoying nature and relaxing.

In conclusion, alpine skiing and hiking are both recreational activities which have many similarities. Hiking and alpine skiing are activities that are physically enduring, they both expose the hiker or skier to a natural environment, and both are a great way to connect with others.
