Life As We Knew It
In the novel, minor details have an impact to the settings and characteristics of the plot.   They have to do with what the reader expects throughout the story.   The main character, Miranda, goes through the moon being pushed out of orbit with her family.   All situations changed dramatically throughout her life and it could have possible been more difficult.   They try to survive through many obstacles that are presented to her and her family.   The disasters that occur with unexpected situations are what would make the novel more interesting if it occurred in a different time period.
If the novel occurred in the past, then there would be different obstacles for many reasons.   A reason would be the limited amount of resources.   Not many accessories or technology was used in the past so it would make it hard and easy.   It would be easier because they would not have had to depend on technology and they wouldn’t have to worry about electricity being on.   It made it difficult because they needed the electricity for the internet or stove.   Many needed stuff was needed throughout that time.
      If the novel was future tense than I think many more would have depended on the technology.   The moon being spun out of orbit changed everything that Miranda ever had so if it was in the later future more things would have been needed.   Gas for vehicles would have been needed a lot more and food would have been either scarce or provided more due to the fact that stuff like food would have been there or not.   In the time of the

novel, weather patterns caused crop failure so the little food they grew would go bad.   Maybe if it was in the future Miranda would be more prepared with better knowledge to know how to change those worse situations.
