Introduction

    After reading the contents of the Student Survival Guide, students will better be prepared to venture off in to the world of online learning. This guide will help one to better understand; educational resources available, academic honesty, setting and achieving goals, managing time wisely, reading comprehension, retention, applying personality, and learning styles. Online classes are not for everyone, by reading this guide it will give the student more of an insight to see if this is the right choice for them.
    Educational Resources
    Axia College provides many useful educational resources for their students.   The Center for Writing Excellence, one of the many resources can provide all kinds of information on how to write any type of academic paper. They also provide many tutorials to get one better acclimated to software that may be required in certain classes. The University Library has an extensive array of books, journals, and biography’s. Any type of educational resource one desires can be located within the library. Students also has access to an online resource called “Write Point,” there one can submit academic papers to be proofed for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
    Academic Honesty
    Integrity is the most important factor with academic honesty. Axia College has a no tolerance policy for plagiarism. It is the student’s responsibility to use the proper guidelines of referencing when using someone else’s words in any academic paper. When a student signs up to attend “University of Phoenix” the Student Code of Conduct handbook is signed with their signature. Signing ones name to this document means that the student is promising to uphold the University’s code of ethics and mission statement.
