Introduction
  I. A recent research show us that 33.8% of the American population are obese .(JAMA,2010)
  II. Today I will talk and inform you about Obesity.
  III. First I will show an overview about ,second I will talk about its causes
, and third I will tell you how diagnose and identify the obesity. To finish I will talk about   the complications and treatments for obesity.

                                                                          Body
  I. First let me show you an overview about obesity.
  A. Meaning the word “obesity”: the word obesity is derived from a Latin word, obesus, which in turn is a contraction of two Latin words, ob- and edere , meaning to eat away (Medicine and Health Rhode Island,2003).

  B. Meaning the illness “obesity”:   overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health (World Health Organization, 2001).

  II. Now , I will tell you the causes of obesity.
  A. In general views, the principal cause of obesity are the bad habits like sedentary , alcohol , and a bad nutrition rich in fats and carbs.
  B. The other causes are Thyroid problems, genetic factors and some medications.
  III. Diagnosis: Let me show you how I can diagnose the obesity.
  A. BMI: A crude population measure of obesity is the body mass index(BMI).A person’s weight(kg) divided by the square of his or her height(meters) (World Health Organization,2001).
  B. Waist circumference: the waist circumference is an independent predictor of risk factors associated with obesity.
  IV. Complications and Treatment:
  A. Obesity is a significant health threat. The extra weight puts more stress on all parts of your body. Medical problems commonly resulting from untreated obesity and morbid obesity include:
  1. Type 2 diabetes ,metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and obstructive sleep apnea.
