The Importance of Recycling

When materials are separated and collected to be processed and remanufactured into new products it is called recycling. Recycling is beneficial to the environment of the whole world. If everyone in the world were to recycle, the size of landfills would be reduced and there would be less pollution. People around the world should take action and recycle in order to make the society a better place to live in.
Recycling papers saves an interminable amount of trees. Statistics show that about 2 billion trees are used per year for paper. Of the 2 billion trees, 250 million of them are used specifically for newspapers. If newspapers were to be recycled, millions and millions of trees would be saved. Other benefits to recycling paper include, reducing energy and water consumption and saving landfill space. In order to improve the world, paper should be recycled more often.
Papers are not the only materials that can be recycled. Even glass and aluminum are recyclable and are just as valuable as paper recycling. If glass is thrown away and not recycled, it stays in the landfill. Glass takes about 4000 years to decompose therefore, instead of leaving in the trash to decompose, it should be recycled. Soda cans all over the world are made out of aluminum. All that aluminum should be recycled because it takes 75 to 95 percent to produce aluminum cans from recycled products than it does to create them from raw materials. Whether it is glass or aluminum, recycling it is what counts the most.
Overall, recycling is necessary in order for the world to be a sanitary place to live. If no one were to recycle, the world would be filled with landfills and trash would consume everything. Therefore, everyone must do their part and recycle.
