I would like to mention the name of K.Shivram Karanth as the greatest teacher of the world. K.Shivram Karanth was a major Kannada writer, social activist, environmentalist, yakshagana artist, filmmaker and thinker. Ramachandra Ghua described him as the “Rabindranath Tagore of modern India” who has been finest novelist activist since independence. He was the third person among the seven recipients of Janapeeth Award for Kannada the highest literary honour conferred by the Government of India. He has also been adjudged as one of the ten makers of India by CNN-IBN. He was also conferred the Padma Bushan award by the Government of India which he later returned in protest against the emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi.

  I like Shivram Karanth very much because he was well known for all the children as ‘Karanthajja’. He was the real teacher as the children used to ask him many questions about science to which he was explaining with very simple and interesting way.
Wherever he went, he attracted children. This is because of his great works through out his life. Karanthajja was born at Kota in Udupi district of Karnataka. I know more about him now as my Granny’s house in Udupi.   So I got many articles written by him.   I know he loved the nature very much. In all his writings he was giving the message what we must learn from nature. I have gone through less number of his books and I’m getting more information from my mother who has met him during her B.Ed course.
He was a talented orator and he was giving importance to co-curricular activities also.
Shivram Karanth was the first person to do some serious research Yakshagana and it’s musical heritage. I liked his thoughts and great works because according to him nature is the best teacher for all the human beings and there are so many things to learn from the nature.
