Demographic Issues

  1. The Demographic trap is when a country is in the stage of transition, when there is a relatively low death rate and still-high birth rate. This is a threat to developing nations because the country’s economic growth ends up being used to support the needs of the booming population. And the over populations forces the government to spend money on food, housing, health care, education, and other necessities before improving the living standards of the current population.
  2. The factors that contribute to the completion of demographic transition are #1: education, this is important because a educated population knows the proper ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies and know that overall having a small family is much easier to support. #2: The status of women because is women are not looked as equals they wont get the proper education about unwanted pregnancies and are not pressured into early marriages. Most women are not given the choice of getting married or not and are pressure into it at early age. #3: health care, a healthy couple does not need to have many kids in order to ensure that one child reaches adulthood. #4: government, a government that provides land reform, education, and health care is sure to have success in its demographic transition because its people have all the proper needs.

2b. an educated population is vital to helping the country move through demographic transition because they are educated on how to prevent unwanted pregnancies, the women are also aware of how to prevent pregnancies. An educated population gets jobs outside the country and bring money into their country.
