Niagara Falls
What sight holds one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world? Niagara Falls is where this plant is located. It was near the end of July when I stood there looking out across the falls. I was with my best friend Erika, her mom, dad, and her grandma. This sight took us a dreaded seven-hour car ride through the loud echoing rain to get to. Erika and I were in bad pain when we finally reached Niagara Falls, New York, because Erika hurt the ball of her foot, and I had a contusion on the top of my right foot, and we both wore boring solid black booties on our feet.
Niagara Falls, New York, is a very big city with a small downtown that has a ton of little shops. Once we reached our destination of our fifteen-story hotel, we went sightseeing for hours on end. We saw the bright neon lights on the casino wall, all the brilliantly colored flowers in Niagara Falls Park, and on almost every corner was a little gift shop waiting for customers.
The next day we went on a fun-filled five-hour tour through the four most exciting attractions around the falls. During this tour we saw an IMAX movie that made you want to jump out of your seat. Did you know six out of eleven people rode over the falls in barrels and survived? Yes, that is a true fact, the people in the exhilarating IMAX movie informed our tour group about this fact. Once the movie was done, we rode on a big blue and white tour bus down to a naturally made whirlpool. This whirlpool is one of the only whirlpools that changes directions at night.
Then the next two stops on our tour through the falls were the Maid of the Mist and The Cave of Winds. At these two attractions is where the depressing trouble began. Our tour guide, Art, realized we would be getting drenched on both of these attractions that Erika and I wouldn’t be able to ride because of our booties.
