When the World Came to an End

A beaker of some unknown chemical bubbled ominously on the corner burner, when I walked into the room. I starred at the green chemical as it bubbled like crazy. I was getting closer to see why it was bubbling. No one was in the room when I walked in, so that was kind of od01d. I rubbed my eyes to see if I was still sleeping, but it was still there. I looked at it, and then I walked over slowly, to get a better look at the unknown chemical. All of a sudden the lights went out and, the substance started glowing brighter and brighter. The chemical seemed too becoming to life and began to move. It got brighter and brighter, closer and closer, and it seemed to be coming after me, glowing and making screaming noises. Then all of a sudden it jumped up like it was trying to attack me, and then I woke up.

“AAHH. It was just a dream,” I told myself, confused out of my mind with sweat dripping down my face. “But it felt so real!” I turned and looked at the clock that said 5:51 am. I sighed, hoping it was still dark and late so that I wouldn’t have to get up and ready for school, but I was wrong. “Huh, looks like I have to get ready for school.”

I jumped in the shower, jumped out, got dressed, put on my make-up, blow-dried my hair, and then brushed my teeth. I grabbed my backpack and purse and just when I was getting ready to go to the bus stop, the phone rang.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Is this Mary?” the unknown caller asked.

“No, this is her daughter Madison”, I answered. “How may I help you?

“My name is Cindy. I’m a very close friend to your mother,” she answered. “I’m calling to see if your mother is okay or not,” she exclaimed.

“My mother is fine, why?” I replied.

“Oh, well in the paper it said your mother died the 18th of April, but it is only the 17th, so I kind of got...
