Jim Beam

      People often dream about going to dinner with their favorite singer, football player, or actor. Frequently   when people are asked who they would want to eat dinner with the names Hank Williams, Joe Montana, and John Wayne come up.   Although these people would all be great choices, a better choice would be Jim Beam. Jim Beam would be a great choice because you wouldn’t have to worry about extra seating, he is easy to talk to, and it doesn’t matter what you talked about because neither one of you will remember the next day.

      One advantage of inviting this guest is that he requires no additional seating, just an available glass. I have sat at many crowded tables before with no available seats, and always managed to find room for this friend of mine.   My friend doesn’t mind where he sits whether it’s in a glass by himself or mixed with other beverages.

      Jim is a very good listener, he doesn’t seem to mind what we talk about, he always listens, and he never argues with me. I seem to be able to speak my mind a lot better when he is around. I usually keep to myself and don’t speak much to others except when he is around.   Some of my best conversations have been due to his presence.

      Although Jim Beam makes a good dinner guest, neither he nor I seem to recall much of our conversations the next day. I have had many stories told to me about some of the conversations that we have had over dinner, but rarely remember them.   I sometimes I think these stories are made up by others that are jealous of our friendship.

      If you find yourself looking for someone to invite to dinner, that doesn’t require a lot of space, someone that is a good listener, and somebody that can help your conversation with others; although remembering your conversation the next day could be a problem! Then maybe you should invite Jim Beam to dinner as well. I enjoy the dinners I have with my friend and look forward to our next dinner together.
