If Thou Be Merciful, Open the Tomb, Lay Me by Juliet

“ If thou be merciful, open the tomb, lay me by Juliet.”  
A famous line uttered by Romeo as he saw his soul mate Juliet, lying there on her deathbed.
Have you ever wondered the true reasons that led them to their demise? This horrible outcome was clearly Friar Lawrence’s fault. He never considered the consequences’ of his plans, he was too optimistic, but mostly irresponsible, which caused the two star-crossed lovers’ to finally end the family feud between the Montegues’ and the Capulets. This caused the streets of Fair Verona to end in peace.
                      “Hold daughter: I do spy a kind of hope, which craves as desperate an execution. As that is desperate which we would prevent. If, rather than to marry county Paris, thou hast the strength of will slay thyself...”
This explains a lot of the many reasons why Friar Lawrence is the one to blame. He never took the time to think over the negatives of his plan before he gave Juliet the poison to drug herself to get her out of marrying Paris. Nor did he think about the consequences of both Romeo and Juliet’s parents’ reaction. He didn’t consult their parents about the two lover’s wanting to get married, which caused a big downfall to both Romeo and Juliet’s lives and in the end was a very unwanted tragedy happened.
                    “To turn your households’ rancour to pure love.”
This quote describes Friar Lawrence being optimistic because he only thought about the love and the happiness that would bring the two young couple. He only also thought about the positives on how maybe they’re marriage would end the feud between their two families.
“These violent delights have violent ends, And in their triumph die, like fire and powder...”
This explains so much of Friar Lawrence being optimistic because he knew that “...violent delights have violent ends...” but he kept his plan going by giving Juliet the poison to make her seem dead so she wouldn’t have to marry Paris.
