Introduction to Marketing

In Week 1, write up your first (out of three) personal development diary blog post, answering the question: “What do you expect to gain from this module, and from your MSc as a whole?”

To embark on a study overseas remained as a dream for me during my college years, and it is rather a difficult time for me to make a choice on the major, cause I do have a lot of interests on a wide range of things, perhaps the wildest dream for me is to be an encyclopaedia.

As time passed by, I turned my attention to a lot of things around, and a compulsory course of demography made me focused again, which followed by a lab course-SPSS. It gave us an outline of how to calculate the population density, how to identify the relations between human birth or death and social development, to be more specifically, the cultural formation, the historic evolution, and economic and political and maybe, sometimes, military status. Because I did quite badly on math in my middle school times, as well as physics and chemistry, anything related to numbers would easily drive me insane, and that was the first time that I discover there were so many interesting things behind the numbers And at that moment, I picked up an old saying which lied in my deep memory once I had ever read, that is, the end of physics is philosophy. Yes, remove the complicated images, everything appears the same on some degree.
Recalling from my memory, it is a threshold that I became interested on this major, as a matter of fact, demography is quite a macroscopic methodology and it calls on a more tremendous work as you can never draw the conclusion next week or next month, on the other hand, I am an impatient person so automatically, I looked out to seek something else suitable for me, and easy to guess, yes, it is marketing!
