Before World War One, Germany was a country of a large population, a strong naval force, and success in industry and trade.   However, World War One caused dramatic changes in Germany.   Despite the stability and success of Germany before 1914, the war initiated drastic social and economic changes that would affect them for many years and would ultimately be detrimental.  
Kaiser Wilhelm II was dedicated to winning the Great War due to his personality complex and sent Germany into total war.   This resulted in numerous social changes since the German population had to quickly adapt to the new conditions the war created.   The disillusionment the people experienced due to the war led to changes such as being able fight back against the government, which many would call one of the few benefits the people of Germany received from the war.   The Kiel Mutiny in the October of 1918 was one example of both the workers and the soldiers of Germany taking a stand for themselves and advocating for their own rights.   Rather than allowing themselves to be part of a suicidal mission against the British Blockade, soldiers and workers instead protested and revolted.   This sent the message to the Government that social and political change was necessary and demanded.   Also, it was a declaration that a government who would support their needs was inevitable.   It was with events in the likeness of the Kiel Mutiny that Germany was transformed into a Republic, and Kaiser Wilhelm was forced to abdicate his position.  
World War One not only helped new government establish in Germany, but it also allowed for women in Germany to rise to a more important role in society.   When the men went off to war, 37% of the workforce became consisted of women.   More importantly, a similar number remained after the war was over.     Not only were women allowed to have jobs in society, but they also became a needed sector of the army.   The nursing field was one of the first opportunities...
