The Nutcracker   ballet a performance of fine arts

For my cultural emporium I went to the Nutcracker ballet at the Lesher Theater in Walnut Creek on 11/28/09. When I went to the Lesher with my family we sat in the third row with a straight on view of the stage. I went to the Lesher to go see the Nutcracker because I was interested in what this performance of the young talents would be like.
This presentation helped me learn what the story of the Nutcracker was about. I learned that the story of the Nutcracker was about a young girl named Clara who dreams of a Nutcracker prince who battles against a fearsome mouse king. In this ballet there were many scenes like the party scene, the fight scene and the land of sweets scene.
The party scene takes place at the Stahlbaum residence. They have a large house and a beautiful Christmas tree. The Stahlbaum’s are throwing their Christmas celabration with family and friends. Clara and Fritz are introduced in this scene as young childeren playing with their friends. As the party reaches its climax, Clara gets a beautiful toy Nutcracker which becomes the hit of the party. As the night continues, guests start to leave. Once the night grows old Clara falls asleep cradling her beloved Nutcracker.
The wonderful dream ne was about Clara’s beloved Nutcracker prince who saves her from the evil army of mice in a fight scene. They then travel to the Land of Sweets where they are congatulated for their bravery by the Sugar Plum Fairy. They are thrown a festival with many festivities and dancing. There is the Spanish, Arabian, Russian, Chinese, and Mirliton dances. This scene also includes the Waltz of Flowers.
This peformance showed me that young artists can be of really talented if they rehearse and practice regularly. I thought this was a great performance and a great showing of fine art. I thought the cast put on a great show, something like I’ve never seen before and the footwork of the cast...
