My First Camera

Dashing into my room I grab the Nikon D5000, my first digital SLR camera. Rushing back into the living room, light flashes as the Camera War began. I was gentle with it like it was a precise dimon.Every inch and square foot of my house was being photographed excitement was rushing through every inch of my body, planning what to photograph next. It was a night of memories, a night that I will remember as my photography career grows.

This is one of my hobbies and a passion of mine, photography. It seems that the moment there is a camera within my grasp I have to touch it, feel the smooth hard surface, test the lens I MUST take pictures and I do not stop. Taking a walk through the woods or being able to spot the sky, sunset, or where there is a water, that is where you will find my camera and I. Often from the walks in the forest, there will be at least 100 pictures on that small piece of equipment. It has taken many journeys since I first received it as a 17th birthday gift from my parents.

Photography for me has always been a way of expression and the ability to capture wonderful memories immortalized in time. It is why photography is one of my passions. There is no photographic memory here in my head, but this way, I capture all these beautiful sunsets and the way good memories are made. So many times has there been a wish in my heart when something hilarious happens or in my walks among the trees I discover something, that I wish I had a camera. 

Snapping a photo or photos has taught me a great deal about life. It takes patience to get the right moment or the right angle. It has taught the joys and the sorrows that come with every life, from death, to rays of light outburst from a cloud, to moments of pure silliness like taping someone to a pole. Another lesson learned is cooperation. Collaboration comes into the photo between model and photographer to get the right shots for emotion or fashion.

This is why I snap it with the camera. It teaches me...
