“The Effect of The Arts”

Since the creation of mankind there has been discrimination, racism, and pregidism. Since then these problems have become more and more apparent and in most cases dangerous. Despite the growing resistance towards these issues they are still an almost constant part of society today. The struggle and pain they have caused has bittered some people and inspired others.
This very inspiration through positive or negative experiences has created the one reversing factor of these issues, and that factor would be the arts, these being poetry, music, literature, painting/drawing, photography, and dance. These things have the ability to do a powerful thing in society and that is to spark common interests among people regardless of race, religion, or social status. For example poet Edgar Allen Poe often wrote sad poems that sparked self evaluation in listeners regardless of race the listener can often relate the trials and tribulations of their life to Poe’s writings. This in turn creates a common train of thought between people which sparks common feelings or emotion, which they find comfort in sharing with each other whether there black or white or of different religion. This exact occurrence is what eliminates racial barriers and brings people together.
Another example of this is caused by music, even today with music that is so directly aimed at certain races of people common interest is found. You may find a song that speaks of the financial problems occurring all over our nation, and all those who are experiencing them can relate to one another in trying to survive these hard times. When people share an interest they let down their guard for they feel more connected to the people around them. This helps to break social barriers and once again the arts bring people together.
There are so many ways the arts can spark common interests, and there are so many issues that they can address. Therefore the power of the arts is truly...
