With the Advance in Mordern Technology , Especially Internet, the Traditional Way of Studying , Such as Class-Learning Will Be Inevitably Replaced in the Further, What Is Your Opinion?

The dramatic worldwide increase in use of Internet or other modern technology focused the media and public attention on the debate whether long-distance education should replace traditional schooling. Some people propose that internet course is flexible and could breakthrough the limitation of time and space, so class-learning should be gradually superseded in favour of distance teaching.Their view might be true,but we need further analysis.
Besides obtaining knowledge in classroom , students could refer themselves to teachers for consultation. Sometimes, a student encounters a problem could not solved by him or herself due to their lack of experience. In this situation, teachers’ intervention is necessary and could help students to address issues smoothly. Without such assistance , students might stuck in problems and could not achieve their goals in study.
Furthermore, through group discussion or extra-curriculum students could practice cooperation skills which are most valued by potential employers. As opposed to distance learning ,which has no interpersonal activities, class-learning provide many opportunities for students to collaborate with each other. For instance, some assignments need several students to finish as a team, in which students should divide the task in pieces , take a part of job and assemble the works together.
Admittedly, internet course is time-saving and cost-effective,as students do not need to travel to school and can arrange the curriculum to fit their own timetable. However, distance course are not fit everyone. As to those lack of self-control and time management ability, distance learning might lead to unsatisfied studying performance.
To sum up, although distance learning has many merits , it could never replace traditional teaching method in the further due to reasons mentioned above. Noticeably, considering about the flexibility of internet course, it might become a complement for traditional schooling.
