What has the world come to when child must almost be killed by a drunk to loose innocence. In the story jem and scout changed most in the story , for they started up making stories about boo and building funny snowmen of neighbors, but alas they started to get what a cruel and deceitful they live in .They are changed by many factors such as :the tom robinson case , the town's plague "prejudice" , and finally attempted murder by an evil , sadistic , drunk , rapest.these events setup the loss of innocence which in this book is symbolized by killing a mocking bird, the whole theme of the story. So in my opinion I believe that   scout and jem went the longest way when it comes to change in the story.
