An advertisement is a mode of communicating information to an audience. It is normally designed to sell a product or a service to the public. The different methods that a designer may use are verbal and visual images and leverage points such as moving the consumer from understanding a product's benefits to linking those benefits with personal values. Posters are a common type of advertising, they are normally found on notice boards or walls which are in public areas. A successful poster is one which is able to catch an audience attention, and leave a lasting impression on the audience.
The advertisement that I have designed is for a mobile phone named ‘The Corby’. By exploiting many advertising techniques that are used in the commercial world, I have attempted to physically attract and physiologically affect the audience. After utilizing aspects such as, image, text and layout, I have created an advertisement that is aimed at a target audience who are teenagers that are under a budget to buy their mobile phone. In this study, I will analyze my advertisement and evaluate how successful it attracts the target audience.                  
The affordability of the CORBY is one of my main selling points. Many features have been added to emphasize this. Firstly, the logo has been placed in the bottom right hand corner. It would therefore be the last picture that the target audience is left with, and remembers about the phone. In addition, the price of the phone is in red, whilst the other fonts are in either black or white, causing it to stand out and attract the attention of the audience. All of these aspects, emphasize that the product is cheap, thus tempting the reader to buy the product. The Font is a “Sans Serif’; this asserts the casual feel of the advertisement. Since the font emphasizes a casual feel, the audience would be more comfortable with reading the advertisement, therefore identifying the product with the audience.
