Wealth brings happiness

Troubled by financial difficulties, many people believe that their lives would be perfect if only they were millionaires. However, being fabulously rich has both its pros and cons.

Firstly and the most obviously, if you can afford more, you have a greater variety of choices and access to better goods and services. Whether it is about housing, food, clothes, travel, education, recreation, gadgets or anything, the wealthier you are, you can fullfil more of your material aspirations. Secondly, if you can pay people to do tedious chores for you, you can dedicate more time and energy to enjoying yourself. Finally, unjust it is, but people tend to respect the rich more than the poorer and prefer their company. In other words, money may help you attract acquaintances, friends and even partners.

On the other hand, life also consists of many important things that cannot be bought. For instance, you can purchase the best medicines and treatments, yet you cannot really buy health. Another good example are human relationships. Namely, if people love your money and not yourself, the closeness between you can't be genuine. Furthermore, the excessive money you possess may keep you worrying about how to spend, invest or save it in the best way. Last but not least, if you have too much money, you are forced to live in constant fear of being assaulted or even killed for it.

To sum up, the way I see it, affluence can make life much easier and more comfortable, but it is far from everything you need to be happy and sometimes it can even be a burden.
