The prophet Elijah   was sent by God to earth and especially to the people of Israel to enlighten them about the presence of God ; and save their souls and guide them to the right pass ,on the other hand; the book of Eli focuses on the bible and how will Eli with the help of God   be able to deliver the last   printed bible to the   right place in the west in the united states of America; however,   the difference does not only concern the time and place but it surpasses this to include quest of each Eli and Elijah and some symbols that appeared in both the movie and in the old testament .
Eli and Elijah had a different navigation but one purpose ,however; this was not a coincidence. In the old testament God asks Elijah to go eastward and see Ahab in order to send rain to earth ; After meeting Ahab Elijah asks Ahab to gather all the people of Israel in mount Carmel ; after this Elijah dared the fake prophets to do a miracle by putting fire under the bullock ; inaddition , they fail to this , Elijah able to do this by the power of God and the people believed in God as the God of Israel .
In contrast in the book of Eli ; Eli was heading east toward Alcatraz with the bible and with the company of   Solara after reaching his destiny he begins to dictate the bible from his memory.
It was not a coincidence that Eli and Elijah where asked by God one to go east and the other eastward ;however,   they both had a common goal . Elijah had guided the people to believe in the real God instead of gods and he have saved their souls, on the other hand Eli was also asked by God to go east and deliver the bible so that it can be printed so that people can read it and believe in God to be saved.
